Honoring Jesus This Easter

Here we are once again, near another Easter – a celebration of Jesus life. Spiritism affirms that the principles and moral teachings of Jesus are the basis of Spiritism.
Jesus led a simple life and changed the course of our world but his simple message was not always understood and many times got lost in the translation. Jesus taught love -- Love for self, for others, and for all things. His simple message is still not yet fully understood and practiced today. Allow yourself to quiet your mind and see things as they indeed are around you. A person of love is not a person without convictions and standards. As was the custom of the time, Jesus washed the feet of many people in a gesture of love and respect. He did so without any reservation—only the lesson it demonstrated. Today, we stand in a Spiritist Center, a place where people congregate to learn, understand, and awaken to the truth. We learn that the truth we seek lies within ourselves. Those who choose to see this come away with a new way of thinking, to be born again. This is, after all, the promise of Jesus Christ.
Today we can look at Easter as a moment of transformation, a true evocation of freedom. Once stripped from the corporeal body, Jesus was able to return to the Spiritual Plane and continue to "coordinate" the cleansing process of our orb. Let’s us, as Spiritists, see this period of time as the real victory of life over death -- the certainty of immortality and reincarnation. Life, in essence, can only be defined as love, that is rooted in the great examples from Jesus’ existence – love towards others and valuing life. This Easter when you are gathering with your loved ones remember to honor the beautiful examples of Jesus which guide us so we can make our own light shine. Celebrate this Easter as a transformation toward a life of plenitude.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light so shine before others." (Matthew 5:14)
